Handwritten Card Service

Want us to write and post the card for you?
No problem!

We can write the card and envelope for you and post it directly to the recipient.

Handwritten cards ordered before 12 noon are posted out the same day Mon–Fri.

Cards ordered over the weekend are posted out on Monday morning.

How to do this:

Simply decide which card you want, then select “Handwrite & Send Direct to Recipient” from the pull-down box marked ‘Choose Sending Option’. Type your message and the recipient’s name & address in the text box provided, then add to basket.  Easy!

If you want to include a gift with the card, please leave a message at Checkout in the 'Add a Note' box, & we will parcel the card + gift together & send direct to the recipient. Please note that if the gift item needs making then same day dispatch may not be possible. Please enquire about specific items if you are unsure.

A gift wrapping service will be available soon.

Handwritten Card Service

How much does it cost?

There is a £1.90 charge for this hand-writing service on top of the cost of the card & P&P.

Can I delay the card being posted until a certain date?

Yes you can.

Simply write your desired dispatch date in the ‘Add a Note’ box at checkout – please be very clear with your instructions so we don’t get confused about what you would like us to do.

Please bear in mind that Royal Mail First Class is not guaranteed next day delivery - approximately 93% of 1st Class letters are delivered next day.

If you would prefer to be sure that the card will arrive with plenty of time to spare, leave a note telling us to write “Don’t open until the 25th” (or whatever date) on the back of the envelope.

How will I know when you have sent the card?

We will send you an email notification to let you know that your handwritten card has been posted, as soon as we get back from the Post Office :-)

What can I say in my handwritten card?

You can pretty much say whatever you like, we are a very broad-minded bunch! However, please make sure you adhere to our Personalisation of Items Content Rules.

Please make sure that the recipient will know who the card is from because we won’t enclose any paperwork!

How many words can I write?

The character limit on handwritten cards is set at 400 and this includes the name & address details. You don’t have to count them as there is a character counter built into the type box which will tell you how many letters you have left to use.

What happens if I have made a mistake?

All names, addresses & messages are written exactly how you have specified, so please be careful as you type.

If you realise that you have made a mistake, please contact us ASAP so that we can try to rectify it for you.

What will the writing inside my card look like?

It will look something like this:

Alas, none of us are calligraphers, but we do endeavour to write as nicely and neatly as possible.

Why use this service?

"Ours is not to reason why..." (Alfred Lord Tennyson)

However, maybe

â–² you have suddenly remembered a birthday or other card-worthy occasion, but you can’t get out to the shops, and haven’t enough time left to order a card online, wait for it to arrive & then post it yourself

â–² you don’t want to send a card with a printed message inside because they can seem impersonal

â–² you can’t write the card yourself, for whatever reason

â–² you don’t have the time and/or patience to queue at the Post Office

â–² you have truly terrible handwriting

â–² you want to send a Valentine’s card with a postmark & handwriting that will fox them?!

â–² you simply hate writing cards

â–² you want to send out multiple handwritten cards on behalf of your business but you & your minions have much more pressing things to be getting on with

Whatever your reason, we are here for you!

We love this part of our job! Some messages have really touched our hearts.

Others, on the other hand, have had us sniggering like Beavis & Butthead!
